Andaz Wall Street Housewarming Party

Usually a “soft launch” is a quiet affair with friends and employers gathered for a big round of encouragement smiles, trying menu items and testing out drink concoctions. Someone forgot to tell that to Hyatt, who gathered a crowd of 300 to toast their highly anticipated new Andaz in Manhattan.

Andaz is a new concept from the giant with locations in West Hollywood and  Andaz Wall Street is the first in , with another on Fifth Avenue to open this spring. The Wall Street location officially opened to the public on Jan. 18.

At the housewarming, the restaurant, Wall & , was packed to the gills as guests gathered around “bars” for tastings of , arugula salad, grilled scallops and other bites being cooked before their eyes in the dining room.

Downstairs at , guests could try a choice of several different drink concoctions including a signature bourbon drink served flaming. Instead of a traditional bar with mixologists working their magic on one side and guests on the other, the lounge is laid out with a series of square- islands that break down the wall between guest and server, giving the bar an air of a high-end kitchen. Alchemy, a duo behind several successful speakeasies, designed the cocktail menu with an appropriately hip flair.

At right, Dr. Oz’s daughter, Daphne Oz, with Lily Cowles, Natasha Lennard and Elizabeth Cordry.

Some Great Drinks to Try in 2010

I’ve forever been a soda . For whatever reason, my beverage refrigerator is usually filled with all sorts of drinks, many of which I haven’t ever sampled in the past.

Anything can somehow earn my interest as soon as it finds its way onto store shelves, and I’ve perpetually been a pioneer in this area. While the majority of new drinks that I try end up being flops, there are always some which end up tasting very well.

The following are 4 drinks that may appeal to you if you have the same type of palette that I do. They are all a bit different in composition, thus hopefully one among them can end up turning into a fixture in your samplings when it comes to these liquid treats.

The main drink that strikes my mind could be a recent favorite of mine. I’ve never been big on energy drinks, but Red Bull has released a new cola that is not in fact an energy drink. It does possess a touch of from natural coffee beans, but it’s less than 1/2 of the caffeinated levels found in one serving of Red Bull and the drink happens to taste nice.

A second one I would recommend sampling is one of the carbonated green tea sodas by Steaz. The drinks are slightly laced with sugar, but these blends are mixed with green tea, making them much healthier than a normal cola.

If you don’t enjoy your drinks carbonated, then you may be fascinated by one of the many flavors of the new O2 , as the drink is quite similar to Vitamin , except it’s sweetened while not being colored. It’s essentially a conglomerate of , organic, and some natural flavors to round it out. Extremely flavorful in my belief.

Finally, a new kind of making its place in the world is coconut , which is completely natural, sweet, & extremely nutritious. Check it out if you don’t mind some with a little bit of a milky composition.

All of those do the job at the end of the day, and I am certain that my drink refrigerator is guaranteed to be filled with some more of those as soon as I finish them.
